Ministry Definitions

Today, there are ten defined ministries which include : Family Care, Fellowship, Outreach, Benevolence, Youth, Worship, Education, Property Maintenance, and Administration / Finance.  The purpose of each ministry and the current chairman of each one has been provided below.  Please be aware that each ministry has a mail box in the administration room (next to the Preacher’s office) for correspondence.

Benevolence: Ron Vaughan & Dick Spangler  

 This ministry focuses on providing for the physical needs of both the church membership and the community.

Education: Gina Gordon

 This group has control over the educational needs for all age groups within the congregation (excluding the adult class).  This includes teachers and curriculum

Family Care: Barbara Duncan

This ministry’s concern is one of awareness within the congregation.  It is chartered to focus on the care of each member family within the congregation, making sure each receives the right level of attention.

Fellowship: Helen Tesner

The charter of the Fellowship ministry is to foster member relationships and integrate new members through planned social events.  They also promote special interest groups such as youth, senior citizen, young married, and singles.

Finance and Admin: Herb Brinkerhoff

This group handles all the financial and legal issues confronting the church.  They create the budget for congregational review and approval.  This ministry also handles all internal communications, i.e., the bulletin.

Involvement : 

This ministry is designed to get all our members involved in some ministering activity.

Missions: Chuck Duncan

This group looks for opportunities to assist Christian activities outside our area and around the world.  This includes Church Camp, Campus Ministries, Internet Christian Sites, Missionaries, Children Homes and Fledgling Churches.

Outreach: 

The outreach ministry has two functions, the first includes communication with the community through newspaper, radio, and television.  The second is visitation to both members and non-members.  

Property and Maintenance: Shane Boyd

This group maintains the building (cleaning and repair) and the grounds (landscaping and exterior)  of the church.

Welcome Home : 

This ministry focuses on both regular visitors and new members.  Each month families involved in the Welcome Home ministry invite these folks into their homes for fellowship and dinner.  It is a great way to make new people feel at home in our family.

Worship: Elders and Jay Thornell

This ministry focuses on the worship assembly and the adult classes.  It is their responsibility to see that the spiritual needs of the church are met.

Youth: Jennifer Beadling

This ministry focuses on the issues confronting our youth.  They search out programs and activities which promote growth in both spiritual maturity and community leadership, with a goal of building leaders for the next generation.
