Our
minister at the
Grand Strand Church of Christ is Jay Thornell. Jay and his wife Diana have
been with our church since July of 2002. Jay brings excitement, interest,
experience, youthful expression, and love for the Lord to each of his
messages. Come visit with us and get an opportunity to meet and hear
Jay. It will be worth your effort.
Jay
and Diana
Jay
grew up in a large city; Diana in a small town. Diana has a spontaneous spirit;
Jay loves things "planned." Jay enjoys food that is seasoned; Diana is
a plain potato chip kind of girl. Diana is six months older than Jay; Jay is
"a lot" younger than Diana.
Jay
and Diana met at Freed-Hardeman University and, in spite of their differences,
fell in love. They were married in 1990. Diana graduated with a degree in
Business Management and Jay with a degree in Bible. Jay also has a Master's
Degree in Counseling from the Harding Graduate School of Religion.
Upon
graduation, Jay and Diana moved to Paris, KY in 1993, where Jay served as the
minister of the Paris Church of Christ until moving to the Grand Strand Church
of Christ in August 2002.
Jay
and Diana have one daughter, Liz. She loves swimming, reading, playing Barbies
and Polly Pockets.
Central
to Jay and Diana's life is their faith in Jesus Christ. For them, Christianity
is more than a religion; it is a relationship with Jesus that invades all
aspects of life. Blessed by God, their desire is to help Jesus to build the one
thing he came to this earth to build - HIS CHURCH.
