Church Vision

Vision : Our current direction is two fold, one is cultivating and maturing the spiritual strength of the congregation to establish ourselves as a force for Christ within the community we inhabit.  The other is having an impact on the community in which we live by meeting the needs of those searching for help.

“If we are but another church building decorating the landscape of our village, then we have failed in our love for God’s creation; our neighbors who are God’s children.”

The overall mission statement for the church is :  “Provide a loving, caring, giving, and serving Christian environment for worship and edification of local and visiting Christians, as well as non-Christians who reside in or visit the surrounding geographical area of southern Horry and northern Georgetown counties.   Place special emphasis on providing a warm, friendly, supportive, and family atmosphere for all members and visitors.  Make a concerted effort to expand awareness of the teachings of Jesus Christ throughout the community in order to edify and attract the lost to a dedicated Christian life.  In addition to regular worship services and bible study classes, offer a number of special interest programs and activities that will enhance awareness and exposure to the congregation and its Christian commitments.”

Community Vision : Our short term goals for having a Christian impact on our community are currently focused on offering programs that may provoke interest and provide a service.

Each year we offer a very well received VBS program to attract children from local neighborhoods.  We have utilized Teens In Mission Experience (T.I.M.E.), and teen groups from other larger congregations to show children in the community that being a Christian can be “cool”.
